Technocrat is a remote-first, full-service open-source digital agency delivering and supporting large-scale government and enterprise web solutions, primarily using Drupal.

We’re seeking a part-time highly experienced senior Azure infrastructure specialist to flexbily assist with supporting an inhouse Microsoft Azure instance that is running a Drupal web application. You will provide contribute your depth of knowledge, working alongside one of our Drupal engineers and the client’s IT team be responsible for the Azure infrastruture:

- Input into discovery, architecture planning and documentation for optimal configuration to run the Drupal web application
- Monitoring initial configuration and alert setup
- Ongoing environment monitoring and raising of incident tickets,
- Patching and updating within SLA
- Support the web application team in their deployment of new releases as required
- Respond within SLA, Resolve and report on incidents, including supporting the team with cybersecurity events.

The base commitment is fixed and light, with additional paid hours for incidents and approved change windows. Detail regarding how the role integrates with the existing infrastructure and IT team will be provided during the interview process.

Target Hours:

This role is flexible and suits someone with existing engagements and has additional capacity. You must be available throughout the week during business hours and be flexible to monitor and respond to incidents as required, including weekends and evenings for critical events. Further details and

Key Responsibilities

About You

5+ years operating production Azure infrastructure, including public-facing web workloads. You have carried real production responsibility, not only project delivery.

Calm, clear, plain-English communicator. You can explain technical risk to stakeholders and collaborate closely with a Drupal engineer who does not know Azure.

Comfortable working part-time with variable additional hours, and comfortable working inside someone else’s tenant under someone else’s change process.

Proactive about documentation, ticket hygiene and keeping people informed.

Minimum Requirements

Based in Victoria with full AU work rights. All work must be performed within Australia due to data residency requirements.

ABN contractor. You hold your own professional indemnity, public liability and cyber liability insurance, evidenced annually.

Willing to sign a confidentiality deed and undergo a National Police Check, renewed annually while engaged.

Familiarity with the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards (VPDSS), the ACSC Essential Eight, or the Australian Privacy Principles.

Bonus Non-Mandatory Experience

- Demonstrated experience with Azure running a Drupal web application is a strong bonus for candidates.
- Experience supporting Azure in government organisations
