Lead financial accounting, revenue and governance at Westmead Hospital, using technical expertise to strengthen reporting, compliance and financial performance.

Remuneration: $180,279 - $201,662 per annum

Where you'll be working

Based at Westmead Hospital, you'll join Western Sydney Local Health District's Finance Directorate, supporting one of NSW's largest and most complex health environments. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to healthcare through strong financial stewardship, trusted advice and collaborative leadership.

You'll work alongside finance professionals and senior stakeholders across the District, with a solid focus on integrity, service excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing

As Manager, Financial Accounting, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership across financial accounting and revenue, ensuring the District delivers accurate, timely and compliant financial information. You'll combine strong technical accounting capability with people leadership and commercial thinking to strengthen financial performance and governance.





- Lead statutory financial reporting, external audit, taxation, treasury, asset, trust and general ledger functions.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, NSW Treasury requirements and NSW Health financial policies and determinations.
- Strengthen financial controls, policies and processes while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and better decision-making.
- Lead revenue strategy and oversight to maximise revenue, reduce leakage, manage financial risk and improve funding outcomes.
- Develop high-performing Financial Accounting and Revenue teams through coaching, performance leadership, succession planning and a strong learning culture.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, business or finance and current full membership of a recognised Australian professional accounting body (CA/CPA).




- Demonstrated ability in the application of relevant accounting standards, legislation and specific organisational policies, standards and protocols in the implementation of effective statutory and other external reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to formulate and deliver outcomes, and solve problems utilising innovative solutions, a high level of technical expertise, judgment and sound evidence-based decision making.
- Demonstrated ability in enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of financial management, including revenue management practices.
- Well developed oral and written communication skills including the ability to lead, persuade, implement change and liaise, advise and interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated extensive experience and proficiency in using financial computer systems as well as high level computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead organisational change, including demonstrated ability in the management of a team that practices quality improvement and customer service principles.
