Four generations on, we are still family owned, still on Queens Parade, and still doing what we have always done: supplying builders, renovators and homeowners with quality timber, hardware and our well known range of skirting boards, architraves and mouldings.

About the role

This is a standalone Accounts Receivable role where you will take full ownership of the debtors ledger from end to end. You will work closely with our Accounts Payable Officer and report to the Operations Manager, with functional support from our Financial Controller.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Raising and issuing customer invoices, credit notes and adjustments

- Monitoring the debtors ledger, following up overdue accounts and collecting outstanding payments

- Maintaining debtor ageing reports and reporting on overdue and at-risk accounts

- Opening cash and credit accounts, including trade reference, payment reference and CreditorWatch checks

- Preparing credit assessments, recommending credit limits and reviewing limits as customer circumstances change

- Maintaining accurate customer credit files, including applications, guarantees and terms of trade

- Managing daily banking, cash and EFTPOS reconciliations for the retail side of the business

- Resolving customer billing enquiries and credit claims relating to stock discrepancies or damage

- Assisting the Financial Controller with bank reconciliations and month-end debtor reporting

About you





You are an experienced Accounts Receivable professional who enjoys taking ownership of your work and building robust relationships with customers and colleagues alike.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous Accounts Receivable and collections experience

- Experience managing a debtor ledger and following up outstanding accounts

- Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills

- Confidence communicating with customers and resolving account queries

- Experience assessing customer creditworthiness and making sound recommendations on credit limits

- Experience using credit reporting agencies and interpreting reports to support credit decisions

- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

- Intermediate Microsoft Excel and general computer skills

Experience in the trade, wholesale or building supplies sector would be highly regarded but is not essential. If you have worked with builder or tradie accounts, you will likely feel at home quickly.

- $72,000 plus superannuation

- Monday to Friday, 38 hours, no weekend work
