The Opportunity

Ochre Health is seeking experienced General Practitioner VMOs to join our locum workforce across Western NSW.

Whether you're looking for a short-term placement or a longer rural adventure, you'll enjoy flexible booking options, supportive local teams, and the opportunity to deliver both general practice and hospital care in communities where your skills make a genuine difference. Our VMO roles offer a rewarding mix of clinic, emergency presentations, and on-call work, providing a varied scope of practice while being well supported by experienced nursing staff, local hospital teams, and our dedicated workforce team.

The Location

Choose from a variety of rewarding locations across Western NSW, from Lightning Ridge to Bourke and many communities in between. Our network offers a diverse mix of rural and remote communities, providing varied clinical work, strong local support,

Essential Criteria

Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner

Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM)

Current medical indemnity insurance

Previous GP VMO and emergency medicine experience

Confidence in managing acute presentations and participating in on-call rosters

Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills

A passion for rural and remote healthcare
