Workers' Compensation Solicitor
About the Role:
A well-established national personal injury law firm is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Solicitor to join its growing Sydney practice. This is an excellent chance for a solicitor who enjoys managing their own matters while working within a collaborative and supportive team.
The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of NSW Workers' Compensation matters from commencement through to resolution. The role offers genuine autonomy, advocacy opportunities and long-term career development within a respected specialist personal injury practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of NSW Workers' Compensation matters from inception through to resolution.
- Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients throughout their claims.
- Prepare matters for Conciliation Conferences, Judicial Conferences and Hearings.
- Represent clients before the Personal Injury Commission where appropriate.
- Instruct Counsel in the Magistrates' Court and Supreme Court of NSW.
- Prepare legal correspondence, submissions, briefs and court documentation.
- Liaise with insurers, medical practitioners, barristers, Commission members and other stakeholders.
- Conduct legal research and provide practical advice on workers' compensation matters.
- Maintain accurate legal files and ensure compliance with legislative and professional obligations.
- Mentor and support paralegal staff while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Admission as an Australian Legal Practitioner with a current and unrestricted NSW Practising Certificate.
- Minimum 3+ years Post Admission Experience (PAE).
- At least 12 months of experience in NSW Workers' Compensation law with IRO approval or demonstrated competence.
- Experience appearing before the Personal Injury Commission.
- Strong knowledge of NSW Workers' Compensation legislation and procedures.
- Excellent advocacy, negotiation and communication skills.
- Solid attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to independently manage a caseload and progress matters through to resolution.
- Robust client management skills and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with solicitors, paralegals, counsel and other stakeholders.
