The Position
We are seeking experienced Automotive Mechanics/Technicians to join our South Roadside Patrol team, with multiple full-time opportunities available. If you live anywhere between Mandurah and the Swan District, we'd love to hear from you.
This role offers a flexible, supportive and secure working environment where you can use your technical expertise and customer service skills to make a real difference-providing trusted roadside support to RAC members when they need it most.
New to Roadside Patrol? We'll train you.
No roadside patrol experience is required. Whether you're an experienced Roadside Patrol or Automotive Mechanic/technician new to the role, you'll receive four to six weeks of comprehensive training before working independently.
Your training includes an introduction to RAC, its products, services and employee entitlements, defensive driving, and supervised ride-along with a senior patrol.
About The Role
Working on a flexible rotating roster of 8-hour shifts between 6:00am and 11:30pm, Monday to Sunday, you will:
Respond to roadside assistance callouts, delivering prompt and reliable mechanical supportDiagnose and troubleshoot a wide range of vehicle breakdownsPerform minor repairs including batteries, tyres,
jump-starts and adjustmentsProvide outstanding customer service in high-pressure situationsCoordinate towing or specialist support where requiredMaintain accurate service records in line with RAC policiesStart your day from a designated RAC location
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic/Technician with strong diagnostic capabilityRelevant automotive trade qualificationMotor Vehicle Repairer's Licence (light vehicle) DesirableCurrent driver's licence with a clean recordStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyExcellent communication skills with a customer-first mindsetAbility to stay calm and supportive under pressure
