The Position

Scotch College has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and innovative educator to join our Technologies Learning Area as Assistant Curriculum Leader in the Middle School, alongside a part-time 0.6 FTE teaching appointment in our Technologies department. This role combines curriculum leadership with classroom practice, supporting the ongoing development of engaging, contemporary learning programs across Materials, Digital Technologies and STEM

This is a permanent part-time teaching position (0.6 FTE), with the Assistant Curriculum Leader role offered as a position of responsibility (0.2 FTE) for a three-year duration, to commence in January 2027.

The teaching component will focus on Technologies, including Materials, Digital Technologies and STEM.

The successful candidate will be an exemplary practitioner who can provide thoughtful curriculum leadership, contribute to the strategic direction of Technologies in the Middle School, and inspire students through high-quality teaching and learning. They will demonstrate a strong commitment to improving student outcomes, building collaborative practice, and working as part of a cohesive and motivated faculty.

The successful candidate will have:

• Qualifications in Technologies and successful teaching background in a combination of

courses including Materials-Wood, Materials- Metal, Engineering and STEM.

• Ability to influence and lead in the areas of curriculum and staffing

• Comprehensive understanding of the Western Australian curriculum.

• Commitment to fostering the pursuit of creative ideas,



project-based learning opportunities,

and innovative practical design activities.

• Ability to collaborate and explore new opportunities for innovation in teaching and learning

• Knowledge of contemporary developments in Technologies education and the ability to

contribute to programs.

• Proficiency with the integration of ILT into teaching programs.

• A high level of safety knowledge and awareness.

• Ability to create an environment of active and genuine learning.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and teamwork skills along with the ability to build

strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and members of the broader College

community.

Knowledge and experience of teaching Digital Technologies is highly desirable.
