WE ARE HIRING AT RECOMMENDED MEATS NORTHAM - Head Butcher / Apprentice Butcher & Casual Counterhand

Situated one hour east of Perth in an exciting and expanding country town, Recommended Meats Northam has recently been purchased by a large entertainment business. We are motivated to build on our existing clientele and expand the range and scope of the business.

To help us achieve this, we are looking to fill three key roles within our supportive team environment.

1. Head Butcher / Retail Shop Manager

The Role:
We are seeking a motivated individual to oversee the day-to-day operations of our small but expanding retail and wholesale shop. You will be expected to showcase your exceptional skills to drive the business forward.

Key Responsibilities:

- Building exceptional customer relationships

- Motivating young staff to become outstanding butchers

- Overseeing all company policies, procedures, and staff training requirements

- Rostering staff hours

- Managing social media promotions

- Operating new POS retail systems

- Handling stock ordering, rotation, and stock takes

- Executing daily and weekly product promotions

- Setting high standards in food safety and presentation

- Creating new products and implementing new product sales

Remuneration and Benefits:

- $100,000 annual salary

- Free accommodation

- Two meals provided per day

- 4.5 days per week schedule

2. Apprentice Butcher

The Role:
Reporting to the Managing Director,



this role is perfect for someone looking to build a career in the meat industry by learning the trade in a hands-on, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensuring the work area maintains the highest standard of cleanliness and safety

- Serving customers in a skilled manner

- Preparing processing equipment and primary carcase cuts

- Receiving and storing meat products

- Preparing various types of smallgoods, rolled meats, netted meats, and specialized cuts

- Curing and corning products

- Packaging meat and smallgoods for resale

- Producing value-added products

Remuneration:

- Paid in accordance with the Meat Industry Award 2023 and the National Employment Standards.

3. Casual Counter Hand / Customer Service

The Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, and approachable team player to help us serve our customers and keep things running smoothly. This is a casual position with an immediate start, requiring 10 hours per week.

Shift Times:

- Friday: 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM

- Saturday: 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

- Customer service

- Restocking the counter

- Product preparation

- General cleaning duties

Requirements:

- Punctual, reliable, honest, and trustworthy

- Willing to learn with a great attitude

Remuneration:

- Paid in accordance with the relevant industry award.
