About the OpportunityBabylon Data is recruiting a Senior Cyber Security Governance Analyst to support the Australian Electoral Commission's Cyber Security team as part of its Cyber Resilience Uplift Program.This role focuses on cyber security governance, risk and compliance (GRC), helping ensure systems, projects and services align with Australian Government security requirements while supporting one of Australia's most critical national institutions.Working alongside cyber security specialists, architects, project teams and senior executives, you will contribute to security design, governance documentation, assurance activities and executive reporting. During federal electoral events, you'll also support election-specific cyber security activities in a high-tempo operational setting.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Government Cyber GRC professional looking to work on nationally significant programs.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Senior Cyber Security Governance Analyst you will:Provide cyber security input into solution design activities.Review proposed technical solutions and recommend appropriate security requirements.Develop executive-level security papers,
reports and recommendations.Coordinate security assurance activities including IRAP assessments and penetration testing.Lead development of formal cyber security governance documentation.Produce policies, procedures, standards, risk assessments and security artefacts.Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to improve cyber governance.Support cyber security activities during federal electoral events.
Essential CriteriaApplicants should demonstrate experience in:Strong knowledge of the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM).Strong understanding of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).Practical experience implementing or assessing the Essential Eight.Demonstrated experience performing Cyber Security Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) functions.Experience engaging with stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.Experience developing governance documentation including policies, standards, procedures, security plans and executive documentation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable CriteriaHighly regarded experience includes:Minimum 5 years' experience in Cyber Security Governance, Risk and Compliance.Australian Government cyber security experience.Experience supporting IRAP assessments.Knowledge of penetration testing and security assurance processes.Experience supporting large transformation or resilience uplift programs.Ability to work effectively in high-pressure operational environments.
