About the role

Reporting to the Administration and Finance Manager, the Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across the organisation. The role supports month-end processes, maintains general ledger integrity, ensures statutory compliance, and provides financial insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee day-to-day financial accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.

- Prepare month-end financial processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.

- Assist in the preparation of management reports, financial statements, and performance analysis.

- Support statutory reporting obligations and ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB/IFRS).

- Manage and reconcile aged care funding, claims processing, and Support at Home financial data.

- Ensure compliance with aged care funding requirements, regulatory obligations, and internal controls.

- Monitor financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and variances to support informed decision-making.

- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support operational and strategic objectives.

- Support payroll processing, payroll reconciliations, and personnel cost monitoring.

- Maintain and improve financial systems, reporting frameworks, and process efficiencies, including technology initiatives.

- Provide professional financial support and advice to management, clients, families,



representatives, and other key stakeholders.

About you

To be successful within this role, you are a professional in the field and will have:

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with CA/CPA qualification (or working towards).

- Demonstrated experience in financial and management accounting, including reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and forecasting.

- Experience supporting payroll processing, financial compliance, and internal controls.

- Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and financial regulatory requirements.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills.

- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills; experience in aged care, healthcare, disability, or community services is highly regarded.
