Christ Church Grammar School is seeking an outstanding educator to join our high-performing Mathematics Department as Assistant Head of Department (Mathematics). This is an exciting opportunity to influence teaching and learning across Years 7-12 while working alongside a collaborative team committed to academic excellence, innovation and student success.

As Assistant Head of Department, you will play a key leadership role in shaping curriculum, programs and assessment practices across the department. Working closely with the Head of Department and teaching staff, you will help ensure engaging, evidence-based learning experiences that challenge and inspire students to achieve their potential.

This position attracts a Position of Responsibility Allowance and includes a teaching load of four classes, providing dedicated time to focus on leadership and curriculum development.

The successful applicant will be appointed to an ongoing teaching position, with an initial three-year leadership tenure as Assistant Head of Department (Mathematics). Following the tenure period, there is the opportunity for further leadership tenure by mutual agreement.

About You

You will be an experienced and passionate Mathematics educator with:

- Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications.

- Current WA Teacher Registration.

- A current Working with Children Check and Federal Police Clearance.

- Strong curriculum knowledge and assessment expertise.

- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

- Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

- A commitment to professional growth, collaboration and educational excellence.

Leadership experience is welcomed, though applications from high-performing teachers seeking their first formal leadership opportunity are encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development, implementation and review of Mathematics programs and assessments across Years 7-12.

- Ensure curriculum delivery aligns with the Australian Curriculum and WACE requirements.

- Coordinate assessment planning, scheduling and moderation processes.

- Support teachers in developing effective instructional practices and high-quality student learning experiences.

- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and skilled excellence within the department.

- Contribute to curriculum innovation, effective use of educational technologies and the broader co-curricular life of the School.
