Head Chef – EMBR Events & Production Kitchen

EMBR Hospitality | Full Time | $100,000 per annum

EMBR Hospitality is looking for an experienced Head Chef to run our Events and Production Kitchen.

This is a hands-on role for a chef who enjoys the variety of events, knows how to build and train strong teams, and understands the importance of organisation, cost control and efficiency.

Our events range from weddings and private celebrations to corporate functions and large-scale events, with a strong focus on offsite catering and event delivery.

Based from our production kitchen, you’ll work closely with the EMBR Events team to plan, prepare and deliver consistently great food and memorable events.

The Role

You’ll oversee the day-to-day operation of our production kitchen and coordinate the food offering across our events calendar.

Some days will be focused on production, planning and training; others will see you and the team heading out to execute events.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Running the day-to-day production kitchen

- Planning, preparing and executing food for events

- Training, mentoring and developing the kitchen team

- Developing event menus and maintaining consistent food standards

- Managing prep, production schedules and event logistics

- Managing food cost, labour and kitchen performance

- Rostering and coordinating event kitchen teams

- Managing ordering, stock control, yields and wastage

- Building systems that improve efficiency and consistency

- Working closely with the Events team to ensure smooth event delivery

- Maintaining food safety and kitchen standards

We’re looking for someone who can create a kitchen that is organised,

well-trained and commercially sustainable, without compromising the quality of the food.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

- Experience as a Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef or Events Chef

- Experience in events, catering or high-volume food production

- Strong cooking skills and a genuine passion for great food

- Experience training and developing kitchen teams

- Strong understanding of food and labour cost management

- Excellent organisation and forward planning

- Strong stock control, ordering and waste management skills

- A practical approach to improving kitchen efficiency

- Strong communication and a collaborative approach

- A calm, hands-on approach during busy services and events

Most importantly, we want someone who understands that great events are built on great preparation, strong teams and clear systems.

Why EMBR Hospitality?

EMBR is a growing South Australian hospitality group with an expanding events and catering operation.

You’ll have an established production base, support from the broader EMBR team and the opportunity to help develop the people, systems and food offering behind our events business.

This is a role for someone who enjoys cooking, developing people, improving systems and delivering great events.

Salary

$100,000 per annum | Full Time

The nature of events means the roster will include some evenings and weekends, depending on the event calendar.

Apply

If you’re an experienced chef who enjoys building outstanding teams, running an efficient kitchen and delivering memorable events, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply via SEEK with your resume and a short cover letter.
