Toscan Dinn Funerals is seeking a Full-Time Funeral Director to join our Canberra team.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is compassionate, professional and genuinely wants to make a difference to families during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

Previous funeral industry experience is highly regarded, however, we are also open to applicants who are new to the industry and have the right attitude, values and transferable skills. Training and support will be provided to the right person.

About the Role

As a Funeral Director, you will support families through the funeral arrangement process and help coordinate meaningful and personalised farewells.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Meeting with families to discuss their wishes and funeral arrangements

- Coordinating funeral services from initial arrangements through to completion

- Caring for and transporting the deceased with dignity and respect

- Liaising with churches, celebrants, cemeteries, crematoriums, hospitals and other service providers

- Preparing and completing funeral documentation

- Coordinating service details including flowers, stationery, music, notices and tribute requirements

- Assisting with viewings, chapel services and funeral proceedings

- Providing compassionate support and guidance to families

- Maintaining a high standard of presentation and professionalism

- Working closely with the wider team to ensure each funeral is conducted smoothly

About You

- Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities

- Calm and composed in challenging situations

- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

- Able to communicate with people from a wide range of backgrounds

- Willing to learn and develop within the funeral industry

- Available to work a rotating roster, including some weekends and on-call requirements

Funeral industry experience is advantageous but not essential. We welcome applications from people with strong transferable skills who are looking for a meaningful career change.

Experience in areas such as customer service, healthcare, community services, hospitality, administration, events, sales or other people-focused roles may be highly transferable.

A current driver's licence is essential.
