MYT Framing Solutions Company: MYT Framing Pty Ltd t/as MYT Framing Solutions Position : Production Supervisor Position Type: Full-Time Salary : $82,000 plus superannuation per annum Location : Burton SA 5110 Your role Production Supervisor is to supervise, coordinate and improve the daily production activities of the LGS framing and truss manufacturing team, ensuring products are produced safely, on time, at the right specifications and meet quality standards. Task & responsibilities Key Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in planning daily and weekly production schedules to meet project requirements and delivery timelines. Allocate and supervise tasks to production team members (cutting, bending, assembly, quality checks). Ensure work programs are followed and production targets are achieved.
Oversee the manufacturing floor and ensure smooth operation of LGS frames, trusses, joists, and panel production. Monitor workflow and adjust resources or methods to optimise output efficiency and minimise downtime. Coordinate with design/drafting teams to clarify technical drawings or specifications.
Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure final products meet design specifications and client standards. Conduct regular inspections, checks and test reports on finished components. Coordinate corrective actions for non-conforming work or defects.
Ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety (WHS) standards on the production floor. Conduct safety briefings and training for team members, including safe use of machinery and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Report incidents and hazards promptly, and follow up with preventive action Monitor use of steel stock, fasteners, profiles and other manufacturing materials. Coordinate ordering/stock replenishment with procurement or management as needed. Ensure tools, jigs and equipment are maintained and available.
Supervise, coach, and mentor production staff to maintain high performance and productivity. Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to improve skills and teamwork. Support onboarding and training of new production team members.
Prepare production reports (output, quality, downtime, resource usage) and share insights with production or operations managers. Maintain accurate production, safety and quality records in line with company procedures. Participate in continuous improvement meetings.
Identify opportunities to enhance manufacturing processes, productivity and workflow. Propose and implement improvements in collaboration with management (Lean practices, layout changes, better tooling, safer methods). Qualification & experience Qualifications & Experience AQF Certificate III including at least two (2) years of on-the-job training,
or AQF Certificate IV in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Manufacturing, Building & Construction, or similar).
At least three (3) years of relevant industry experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed. Demonstrated experience supervising or leading a production or manufacturing team, preferably within light gauge steel (LGS), framing, truss or structural steel manufacturing. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, and workflow optimisation.
Technical Skills & Knowledge Ability to read, interpret and work from technical drawings, shop drawings and specifications. Sound knowledge of quality control processes and inspection requirements within a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with LGS framing systems, trusses, joists and panelised construction (highly regarded).
Competency in using production reporting systems, spreadsheets and basic computer applications. Safety & Compliance Solid knowledge of Work Health & Safety (WHS) legislation and safe work practices in a manufacturing environment.
Experience conducting safety briefings, risk assessments and incident reporting. Ability to enforce PPE requirements and safe operation of machinery and equipment. Leadership & Communication Proven ability to supervise, coach and motivate production staff to achieve performance targets.
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with production teams, design/drafting staff and management. Experience conducting performance reviews, providing feedback and supporting staff development. Personal Attributes Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
