ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As MOB Academy continues to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Officer to join our team on a part-time basis in this newly created role supporting our Head of Finance.

The Accounts Officer is customer service-focused by providing support to staff, suppliers and parents by managing finance-related enquiries, including communication regarding levy payments and account matters. You will be providing accurate, timely and productive accounts administration support across the organisation.

The role requires a proactive, detail-focused individual who can communicate effectively and is confident working across a broad range of account tasks in a fast-paced educational environment.

This is a permanent part-time role onsite working 3 days per week, with Wednesday being essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Process high-volume supplier invoices accurately and within agreed timeframes

- Match invoices to purchase orders and approvals, ensuring compliance with internal procedures

- Allocate expenses correctly and maintain accurate financial coding across accounts

- Prepare and execute payment runs in line with approved schedules and cash flow requirements

- Maintain up-to-date creditor records and strong supplier relationships

- Perform supplier statement reconciliations and proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies





- Support month-end finance activities, reconciliations, and reporting requirements

- Respond promptly and professionally to finance-related queries from staff, suppliers, and stakeholders

- Ensure financial records and documentation are accurate, organised, and audit-ready

- Contribute to finance system enhancements and continuous process improvement initiatives

- Communicate effectively with parents regarding levy accounts, payments, and account enquiries

- Provide administrative and operational support to the Head of Finance as required

- Uphold and demonstrate MOB Academy's values through all interactions and responsibilities

REQUIRED

- Certificate 3 or 4 in Accounts Administration, Bookkeeping, Finance or similar

- Demonstrated experience in accounts payable, finance administration or accounts officer roles, working within a school environment is highly desirable

- Experience using finance/accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

- Ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality when handing financial information

- Current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain

- Availability for an immediate start for the right candidate
