**Volunteer Website & Digital Experience Specialist**

Rethink Australia Foundation Ltd is a youth-led environmental organisation empowering students and schools to drive sustainability through education, technology and community action.

Our work brings together environmental education, student leadership, technology-enabled solutions and partnerships to create meaningful and measurable change. As Rethink Australia grows, we are seeking a skilled Website & Digital Experience Specialist to help strengthen our website and create a credible, accessible and engaging digital experience for our priority audiences.

The volunteer will work with the Rethink Australia team to review the current website, improve its structure and presentation, and implement practical changes that communicate the organisation’s work professionally and clearly.

This is a hands-on project role for someone who can combine strong digital judgement with practical design or implementation capability.

**Key responsibilities**

• Review the existing website and identify opportunities to improve design, usability, accessibility and content structure

• Help develop a clear and intuitive website experience for corporate partners, government organisations, philanthropic funders, schools, volunteers and community participants

• Design and implement improvements to page layouts, navigation and visual presentation

• Support the development of responsive website experiences across desktop, tablet and mobile devices

• Improve the presentation of organisational information, programs, partnerships, impact and opportunities to become involved

• Work with the Brand Strategy Advisor, Content Writer and Consumer Behaviour & Audience Insights Specialist to translate strategic messaging into an effective website journey

• Help ensure that website design and content are consistent with Rethink Australia’s developing brand identity

• Identify and address usability, accessibility, performance or technical issues within the scope of the engagement





• Develop reusable website components, templates or recommendations that can support future content

• Document significant website changes and provide practical guidance to help the team maintain the website

**About you**

We are seeking a skilled volunteer with demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Website design or development

• User experience or user interface design

• Digital design

• Front-end development

• Responsive website implementation

• Content management systems

• Website accessibility

• Information architecture or digital content structure

Experience designing or developing websites for charities, foundations, educational organisations, environmental organisations, professional services firms or other established institutions will be highly regarded.

You may be an experienced professional, an emerging digital specialist with a strong portfolio, or a university student with demonstrated practical capability. Applicants should be able to work independently, communicate clearly and apply feedback constructively.

The successful applicant will be able to look beyond individual visual changes and help create a coherent digital experience that strengthens trust in Rethink Australia and supports the organisation’s long-term development.

The role is fully remote and designed to be flexible around professional or study commitments. An initial project period of up to six months is anticipated, requiring approximately three to five hours per week.

** Training **
A comprehensive induction will be provided covering Rethink Australia’s mission, programs, strategic direction, priority audiences, organisational positioning and current digital presence. The volunteer will receive access to relevant brand materials, website content, technical information and background documents required for the engagement. Ongoing direction and feedback will be provided by the Rethink Australia team.
