About the role

This is a hands-on electrical design role for an engineer with strong experience working within an engineering design consultancy or EPCM environment. You will be responsible for preparing and delivering electrical engineering packages across study, FEED and detailed design phases for mining and mineral processing projects.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and maintain electrical load lists and load schedules
- Develop and review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Prepare electrical equipment lists, motor lists and MCC schedules
- Prepare cable schedules and perform cable sizing
- Perform load flow, short circuit, voltage drop and protection coordination calculations
- Prepare electrical design criteria, philosophies and technical specifications
- Prepare equipment datasheets and procurement packages
- Size and select transformers, switchboards, MCCs, motors, VSDs and associated equipment
- Develop earthing and lightning protection requirements
- Review vendor drawings, calculations and technical submissions

About you

- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering




- 8+ years' relevant experience
- Hands-on experience within an engineering design consultancy or EPCM environment is essential
- Proven ability to independently prepare electrical engineering deliverables
- Mining, mineral processing or heavy industrial project experience
- Robust knowledge of LV/MV distribution, MCCs, motors, VSDs and industrial electrical systems
- Experience with crushing, conveying, materials handling and process plants highly regarded
- Good knowledge of relevant Australian Standards
- Robust multidisciplinary coordination and communication skills
- Based in Melbourne or Perth, or able to relocate
