About the role

Four Paw is a boutique salon in Red Hill, QLD 4059. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our team. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work in a calm, animal-focused environment where you will deliver high-quality grooming services to our valued clients and their beloved pets. As a Pet Groomer, you play a vital role in maintaining the health, hygiene and wellbeing of animals in our care, whilst building strong relationships with pet owners and contributing to the overall success of Four Paw's mission to provide exceptional animal care services.

What you'll be doing

- Bathing, drying and grooming dogs using appropriate techniques and products suited to individual coat types and skin conditions

- Performing breed-standard cuts and styling according to client specifications and industry best practices

- Examining pets for signs of health issues, skin conditions, parasites or injuries and reporting concerns to management or referring clients to veterinary services

- Maintaining a protected, clean and hygienic grooming environment

- Handling pets with patience, gentleness and professionalism, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the grooming process

- Communicating effectively with pet owners regarding grooming recommendations, aftercare advice and scheduling appointments

- Managing appointment schedules and ensuring timely completion of grooming services to maintain client satisfaction

- Building rapport with clients and their pets to encourage repeat business and positive referrals

- Staying up to date with current grooming trends,



techniques and animal welfare best practices

- Supporting the broader Four Paw team to maintain high standards of customer service and animal welfare

What we're looking for

- Relevant qualifications in pet grooming or animal care, or demonstrated experience working as a pet groomer in a professional setting

- Comprehensive knowledge of different dog breeds, coat types and grooming requirements

- Strong practical skills in bathing, drying, hand-stripping, scissoring and clipper work

- Excellent understanding of animal health, behaviour and welfare standards

- Ability to handle animals safely and humanely, with patience and a genuine passion for animal wellbeing

- Physical fitness and stamina to perform grooming tasks throughout the working day

- Outstanding communication and customer service skills, with the ability to listen to client requirements and provide professional recommendations

- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness

- Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude

- Experience with pet behaviour assessment and handling anxious or difficult pets is a valuable advantage
