About the Role

Chapter Three Espresso & Bar is looking for a confident, energetic and experienced Bartender / Barista to join our team in Canterbury.

This role has a strong focus on bartending and evening service. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working behind the bar, preparing cocktails, serving wine and beer, engaging with customers and keeping the bar running smoothly during busy periods.

Barista experience is highly regarded, as you may also assist with coffee service when required.

Applicants must be available to work evening/night shifts, including Friday and Saturday nights.

Key Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and serving a range of cocktails to a consistently high standard

- Making classic cocktails and following house recipes

- Serving and recommending wines, beers, spirits and other beverages

- Confidently pouring wine, beer and spirits

- Providing friendly, attentive and qualified bar service

- Engaging with customers and creating a welcoming atmosphere

- Taking beverage orders and assisting customers with drink selections

- Setting up the bar before service and closing down at the end of the night

- Keeping the bar clean, organised and fully stocked throughout service

- Monitoring and replenishing wine, beer, spirits, mixers and garnishes

- Assisting with stock takes and stock rotation

- Monitoring stock levels and minimizing wastage

- Following Victorian RSA requirements at all times

- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and hygiene

- Working closely with the floor and kitchen teams during busy service

- Preparing high-quality coffees and other café beverages when required





What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

- Has previous bartending experience, preferably in a busy restaurant, bar or hospitality venue

- Has good knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and beer

- Is confident making and presenting cocktails

- Can work quickly while maintaining quality and consistency

- Has a current Victorian RSA certificate

- Is comfortable working independently behind the bar

- Has strong customer service and communication skills

- Is friendly, outgoing and confident speaking with customers

- Has excellent attention to detail

- Is reliable, punctual and well presented

- Works well as part of a team

- Can handle busy evening and weekend services

- Is available to work nights, including Friday and Saturday evenings

- Has Australian working rights

Experience

Bartending: 1+ year preferred
Cocktail making: 1+ year preferred
Barista: Experience preferred but not essential
RSA Victoria: Required
