About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead front-of-house and overall restaurant operations for an Indian Restaurant and Café. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who excels in people management, service excellence, and operational control while working closely with ownership and the Head Chef to build a high-performing venue.

Key Responsibilities

1. Service Delivery, Customer Experience

- Lead front-of-house service to deliver a warm, professional, and consistent guest experience

- Manage reservations, seating flow, table turns, and service standards during peak periods

- Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally to drive repeat business and strong reviews

- Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations including opening, closing, and shift execution

- Coordinate service flow between front-of-house, bar, and kitchen teams

- Ensure smooth service during high-volume lunch and dinner trade

2. Team Leadership & People Management

- Recruit, train, roster, and manage front-of-house staff including supervisors, waitstaff, and baristas

- Set clear expectations, coach performance, and build a positive, accountable team culture

- Maintain appropriate staffing levels while controlling labour costs

4. Compliance, Safety & Standards

- Ensure compliance with NSW food safety, WHS, RSA, and council requirements





- Maintain service standards, cleanliness, and presentation across dining, bar, and customer areas

- Ensure staff are trained and compliant with safety and service procedures

5. Financial Control & Business Performance

- Manage labour costs, cash handling, POS systems, and daily reporting

- Support pricing, promotions, and upselling strategies to maximise revenue

- Work with ownership to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and long-term growth

Key Skills & Experience Required

- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or Assistant Manager in a full-service restaurant

- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills

- Experience managing teams in busy, high-volume hospitality environments

- Solid understanding of labour control, rostering, and service operations

- Good knowledge of Australian hospitality compliance, including WHS and RSA

Desirable (Not Mandatory)

- Experience managing Indian or culturally diverse restaurants

- Experience opening a new restaurant or relaunching a venue

- Solid bar, beverage, or café operations knowledge

- Interest in career progression, profit-sharing, or partnership opportunities
