We think the best salesperson in Canberra is the most genuine one. Forty Winks Fyshwick is a tight-knit family business that has served Canberra since 1988. One of our specialists has moved on, and we are hiring a person for the most important job on our floor: the Bedding Specialist.

What the role actually is: you welcome guests into our home, listen properly to their sleep story, profile them on bedMATCH® (our diagnostic sleep-matching technology) and guide them honestly to whatever suits them best. Then you do what most of retail never bothers with. You follow up and you keep your promises, until guests start asking for you by name. If you’ve ever walked out of a store because the salesperson cared more about the sale than about you, then you already understand how we work. We’re the opposite, and it shows: guests buy with confidence, come back, and send their friends.

Read this before applying, because we’re deliberately picky:

● This is NOT your job if: you love the hard close; follow-up feels like someone else’s problem; weekends are a dealbreaker (Saturday and Sunday are our busiest days); or being measured bothers you. We track conversion, average sale and follow-up completion. Coaching is generous and wins are celebrated, but the numbers are on the wall.

● This IS your job if: people trust you quickly, you do what you say you’ll do, and you take real pride in service as a craft worth perfecting.

● No bedding experience required. Our best people have come from hospitality, premium retail, health and real estate. We can teach the sleep science,



the product range and full bedMATCH® accreditation. We can’t teach genuine. That part is you.

What’s in it for you:

● $63,355 plus 12% super, paid weekly. A salaried role above the General Retail Award, with a weekly laundry allowance on top. A structured Short-Term Incentive program is in development for the whole team.

● A roster designed for a life. The store trades 10am to 5pm, seven days. You’ll work five of them, including Saturday and Sunday, with two weekday days off. You’re paid for a 38-hour week and typically rostered about 35, because the job is built to fit inside trading hours. No late nights, ever.

● A paid “RDO Weekend” every quarter. A full Saturday and Sunday off, on us, four times a year, on top of your leave.

● Real development. bedMATCH® accreditation, structured product and sleep-science training, proper coaching through your first 90 days, and a clear path to senior specialist roles as we grow.

● A team that backs you. Handovers and shared wins are how we work here, so you’ll never be competing with the person beside you.

The Non-Negotiables:

● Saturday and Sunday availability each week, with your quarterly paid weekend off rostered in advance.

● An ongoing,



unrestricted right to work in Australia. This is a permanent full-time role.

● Presentation that makes a five-star first impression, every shift.

● Follow-through. Punctual every shift, and every promise to a guest kept.
