About the role

Faulkner Nurseries PTY LTD is seeking a dedicated Tree Nursery Production specialist to join our team on a full-time basis at our Hoddles Creek, VIC facility. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our nursery operations, overseeing the cultivation, propagation, and care of our tree stock. This position is essential to maintaining the quality and health of our plants whilst meeting production targets and ensuring productive workflow throughout the nursery. You will be responsible for implementing best practices in horticultural production and contributing to the continued success of our business.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and maintaining growing media, potting mixes, and nursery beds to optimal standards

- Propagating trees through seed, cuttings, and grafting techniques in accordance with horticultural best practices

- Monitoring and managing plant health, including watering, fertilising, pest and disease management

- Applying appropriate chemical and organic treatments whilst adhering to safety regulations and environmental standards

- Conducting regular inspections of nursery stock to identify and address quality issues

- Maintaining accurate records of plant inventory, growth stages, and production schedules

- Operating and maintaining nursery equipment including irrigation systems, propagation units, and machinery

- Assisting with harvesting, grading, and packaging trees for dispatch





- Supporting the implementation of nursery-wide health and safety protocols

- Contributing to the ongoing improvement of nursery production processes and efficiency

What we're looking for

- Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions

- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of plant quality

- Willingness to work as part of a team and take direction from management

Valid driver's licence would be advantageous
