About the role

Are you a carer or a family member or friend of someone who has used adult public mental health services?

Are you passionate about carers and families having a voice and receiving the best possible supports?

An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Senior Carer Peer Worker role within Eastern Health's Mental Health and Wellbeing service.

The Senior Carer Peer Worker shall work collaboratively with other staff and management of the Mental Health and Wellbeing service, to ensure the best possible support and participation opportunities for carers and families. This role requires independent and autonomous work practices and senior lived experience skills.

The Senior Carer Peer the role is to be a focal point for other peer workers to problem solve complex individual carer/family needs and to Guide, orientate, supervise and mentor Carer Peer Workers.





Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
