About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Spray Painter to join the team at SML Detailing in Windsor, NSW. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality paint finishing services to our valued clients. As a Spray Painter, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing paint formulations, and applying finishes to vehicles with precision and expertise. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence in automotive detailing and ensuring customer satisfaction with every project.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing vehicle surfaces through sanding, priming, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion

- Mixing paint and coating materials to the correct specifications and colour matching

- Operating spray equipment and application tools with precision to achieve flawless finishes

- Applying multiple coats of paint, clear coat, and protective finishes as required

- Inspecting finished work to ensure quality standards are met and addressing any imperfections

- Maintaining spray equipment and tools in proper working condition

- Adhering to health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment

- Following environmental and waste disposal procedures for paint and solvents

- Communicating with team members and management regarding project progress and any issues

- Documenting work completed and maintaining accurate records

What we're looking for

- A recognised qualification or apprenticeship in spray painting or automotive refinishing

- Proven experience as a spray painter in the automotive industry, ideally in detailing or refinishing

- Proficiency in operating spray guns, HVLP systems, and other application equipment

- Strong knowledge of paint types, primers, clear coats,



and colour matching techniques

- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes

- A solid understanding of health and safety procedures and workplace compliance

- The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

- Good communication skills and a professional approach to client interactions

- Physical fitness to perform standing and repetitive tasks throughout the day

- A valid driver's licence is advantageous
