MAYDAY is partnering with a respected organisation within the funeral services sector to recruit a Funeral Director Assistant based in Malaga. This is a part-time, permanent opportunity offering 28 hours per week across 3–4 days, ideal for someone who is compassionate, service-driven and looking for meaningful work where no two days are the same.
This is a unique opportunity to join a supportive team and play an important role in helping families through some of the most significant moments of their lives. You’ll receive structured training and develop valuable skills across funeral arrangements, transfers and service delivery.
The Role
Working closely with experienced Funeral Directors and the wider team, you will play an significant hands-on role in supporting the delivery of professional, dignified and personalised funeral services.
Your day will be varied, with responsibilities including:
- Assisting with the transfer of deceased persons into our care, ensuring they are handled with dignity, respect and professionalism
- Supporting Funeral Directors with funeral arrangements and service preparation
- Assisting with funeral services, including preparation, set-up and supporting families and guests on the day
- Providing warm, professional and compassionate service to families and internal stakeholders
- Assisting with the preparation and presentation of vehicles, equipment and facilities
- Supporting the coordination of funeral services and related documentation
- Working closely with Funeral Directors, Conductors and other team members to ensure services run smoothly
- Maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness, health and safety
- Supporting general day-to-day operations at the Malaga location
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company policies, procedures and quality standards
About You
We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about people and takes pride in delivering a high standard of service. You may come from hospitality, retail, healthcare, aged care, community services, transport, logistics or another customer-focused environment.
You will ideally bring:
- Experience in a service-focused setting, or the ability and willingness to quickly learn
- A current unrestricted driver's licence
- The ability to remain calm, professional and compassionate in emotionally sensitive situations
- Comfort working around deceased persons and supporting families experiencing grief
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to follow processes and instructions
- A respectful and culturally sensitive approach when working with families from diverse backgrounds
- The physical capability to undertake manual handling and the inherent requirements of the role
- A genuine willingness to learn and contribute as part of a close-knit team
Previous funeral industry experience is not essential – full training and support will be provided.
