Role Description: Power Generation Service Technician

As a Power Generation Service Technician at Diesel Generator Services (DGS), you will serve as a technical lead in a fast-paced, market leading, customer-facing field role. You will manage the full lifecycle of standby and prime power assets, including generators and Battery Storage equipment —from initial installation and commissioning to ongoing maintenance, servicing and system upgrades, including breakdown after-hour responsibilities, all managed via a On-Call roster.

Core Responsibilities

- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct scheduled servicing across a range of 2.5kVa to 2500kVa systems. Duties include full visual inspections, oil/filter changes, battery testing and cooling system flushes to optimize performance and quality of customer assets.





- Controller & System Upgrades: Execute complex upgrades of generator control systems (e.g., DSE, Comap, Cummins). This includes retrofitting modern digital controllers to extend asset lifespan by up to 20 years and enabling advanced features like remote monitoring and synchronization.

- Project Work & Commissioning: Lead end-to-end "Design & Construct" projects, including site surveys, equipment placement, and the physical integration of diesel systems into existing infrastructure.

- Diagnostics & Emergency Repair: Utilize advanced diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot mechanical failures, electrical faults, and control system issues 24/7 within a on call roster.

- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all installations and repairs meet current safety standards, including voltage regulation, load-bank testing, and issuing Certificates of Compliance where required.
