About the role

Esca Grill is looking for a pastry chef for our fast-paced, farm to table restaurant in the inner northwest suburb of Moonee Ponds. This is a successful family-run European influenced Modern Australian restaurant with an ethos for sustainability and fine food. In this role, you will produce quality desserts so that guests are blown away.

About you
Proven experience as a pastry chef or in a similar role
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and decoration
Creativity and attention to detail in dessert design and presentation
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workplace
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Outstanding team leadership skills
Experience within a rapid-paced, upmarket, or fine-dining kitchen

Key responsibilities
Provide functional assistance in the production team demonstrating superior standards of preparation, production and finishing




Implement superior standards of preparation and production demonstrating and utilizing your pastry skills, experience and knowledge gained from previous roles and qualifications
Contribute to the fulfillment of production schedules and targets, ensuring all products are prepared to the Escagrill standard, demonstrating organizational skills and superior attention to detail
Build and maintain productive working relationships with team members and foster a respectful and productive working environment and culture
Adopt a 'hands on' approach to work, leading by example and demonstrating initiative and ability to work within a fast-paced environment
Collaborate with the team to innovate and develop current products and menu offerings
Demonstrate control in food preparation and managing wastage levels
