Our client is a well-established food manufacturing business in Broadmeadows, looking for a Trade Qualified Maintenance Fitter to join their permanent maintenance team.

What you get
$54.50 per hour base rate
15% night shift loading
Saturday – 1.5x
Sunday – 2x
Approx. $150K+ annual earning potential based on the current roster and applicable penalties
Permanent full time employment
12-hour shifts
Day/night rotation every 14 days

The roster

You'll work a rotating 12-hour day/night roster, changing between days and nights every 14 days.

The job

You'll be responsible for keeping production equipment running safely and reliably.

Your day-to-day work will include:
Breakdown and preventative maintenance
Mechanical fault finding and repairs
Diagnosing production machinery issues
Maintaining conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, motors, chains and belts




Pneumatic systems and mechanical components
Planned maintenance and inspections
Equipment repairs, installations and mechanical upgrades
Working with Production to minimise downtime
Completing maintenance records and documentation

What you need
Trade Qualified Maintenance Fitter
Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or an equivalent Australian-recognised qualification
Previous Maintenance Fitter experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Solid mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
Experience maintaining production machinery
Good understanding of preventative and breakdown maintenance
Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team

Food manufacturing experience is not essential.

Welding and fabrication experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
