We provide mechanical servicing, repairs and maintenance across a diverse range of vehicles, trucks, mobile plant and specialised equipment. This is a hands-on role offering a combination of workshop and field-based work.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
Inspect, diagnose and repair engines and associated mechanical components.
Repair and maintain braking, steering and suspension systems.
Inspect and repair transmissions, driveline components, wheel bearings and hubs.
Remove, repair, replace and refit defective mechanical components and assemblies.
Perform oil, filter, coolant and other scheduled fluid changes.
Use electronic diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify faults.
Inspect vehicles and equipment for defects and additional maintenance requirements.
Test vehicles and equipment following repairs to ensure safe and correct operation.
Complete service records, inspection reports and job documentation.
Carry out workshop and field-based mechanical repairs as required.
Follow manufacturer specifications and workplace health and safety requirements.
About You
To be considered for the position, you should have:
Relevant automotive mechanical trade qualifications or equivalent.
Experience working as a qualified motor mechanic.
Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Experience with engines, brakes, steering, suspension and driveline systems.
Ability to use electronic diagnostic equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and record-keeping skills.
Current driver's licence.
Strong commitment to safe working practices.
Experience with trucks, mobile plant, heavy equipment, hydraulics or specialised vehicles will be highly regarded.
