We are seeking a passionate and motivated Demi Chef to join our culinary team, working across two well-established and highly regarded dining venues – Cottage Kitchen Restaurant and Culshaws Restaurant.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and qualified cook who thrives in a rapid-paced workplace, takes pride in delivering consistently high-quality dishes, and enjoys developing their leadership capability by mentoring junior kitchen staff.

About the Role

As a Demi Chef, you will play a key role in preparing and presenting exceptional food across both restaurants, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency at all times. You will work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to support daily kitchen operations, while also supervising and training junior kitchen team members.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and present menu items to a consistently high standard across both venues
Ensure quality, portion control, and presentation standards are maintained at all times
Assist with breakfast, lunch, dinner, functions, and special events
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
Support stock control, ordering,



and waste minimisation practices
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
Supervise, support, and train junior kitchen staff, apprentices, and kitchen attendants
Provide on-the-job coaching and guidance to maintain high kitchen standards
Work collaboratively with chefs and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery

About You
Previous experience as a Demi Chef, Commis Chef, or similar role in a commercial kitchen
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
Robust knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting under pressure
Confidence in supervising and mentoring junior staff
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Versatile availability including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Fluent English communication skills essential
