ARANI Thai Restaurant are seeking a Chef for a Thai Restaurant located in Geelong, Victoria 3220

The position available is full time, guaranteed 38 hours per week with an annual salary of $79,423 + 12% superannuation paid in addition

Our business is locally owned and family run, with over 15 years of experience. We strive to provide a unique dining experience featuring high-quality, traditional Thai cuisine.

The successful candidate will be responsible for tasks including;

● Plan daily food preparation and cooking activities based on the restaurant's menu and service requirements.

● Prepare and cook a range of traditional Thai dishes while maintaining consistent taste, quality and presentation.

● Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes throughout preparation and service.

● Manage food supplies, monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients as required.

● Apply appropriate cooking techniques and provide guidance to other kitchen staff on preparation and cooking procedures.

● Maintain and enforce high standards of food safety,



hygiene and sanitation throughout the kitchen.

● Assist with coordinating kitchen operations during busy lunch and dinner services.

● Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff where required.

We welcome experience and skills in Asian style cooking that are a perk but not a necessity as in-house training will be provided. Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, Kitchen Management, or Food Safety are highly regarded.

Skills that would prove to be helpful would include;

● Wok & Pan Fry: Controlling intense flames and timing tosses for stir-frying and searing.

● Knife Handling: Precision cutting for garnishes, meats, and rapid-paced prep work.

● Component Prep: Making authentic curry pastes, stocks, soups and sauces from scratch.

● Specialized Equipment: Operating steamers, rice cookers, and grillers

Pay: $79,423.00 per year
