The TSRA Environmental Management Program is currently seeking a dedicated Ranger to join our team on a temporary 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. Based in the Torres Strait on Boigu Island, the Ranger will undertake land, sea, and cultural heritage management activities under the supervision of the Senior Ranger.

TSRA Rangers play a vital role in environmental and cultural stewardship across the Torres Strait, combining traditional knowledge and western science to care for land, sea, and culture in line with community and traditional owners. Rangers' activities are guided by a Working on Country Ranger Plan and Annual Scope of Works, developed in consultation with RNTBCs, communities, and other stakeholders.
Implement works in accordance with management plans including Land and Sea Management Strategy for Torres Strait, Torres Strait Development Plan (Environmental Management Program), Working on Country Ranger Plan, Indigenous Protected Area Plans, and Dugong and Turtle Management Plans.
Applicants must be current residents of Boigu Island or demonstrate independent capacity to relocate and reside there.
