Laboratory Assistant in Specimen Reception

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our Pathology team in Sample Reception and Processing. This is a critical role in the diagnostic testing process, ensuring specimens are received, sorted, and prepared for laboratory analysis with precision and care.

You'll be working in a fast-paced workplace where attention to detail and accuracy is vital. This role is perfect for someone who is organised, adaptable, and committed to supporting high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Receive and accurately log pathology samples upon arrival

Sort and label specimens according to strict protocols

Prepare samples for transport or internal laboratory analysis

Maintain specimen integrity and ensure correct handling

Liaise with couriers, collection staff, and lab personnel

Contribute to a clean, protected, and efficient work workplace





Key Requirements:

High attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organisational and time management skills

Valuable communication and teamwork abilities

Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast paced work workplace

Comfortable working with biological samples

Previous experience in a pathology or healthcare setting is highly regarded but not essential

Work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays with the availability of minimum 4 days a week to max 38 hours a week.
