About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the finance team on a 6-week contract, starting immediately. Reporting directly to the Senior Finance Manager, this role will provide critical support during a busy period, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness and integrity of financial reporting and accounting processes. This is an excellent chance for a hands-on accountant who can integrate quickly into an existing finance function with minimal onboarding time, and who is comfortable working autonomously to tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities
Prepare and process journal entries, accruals and prepayments in line with month-end close timetables
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate/resolve discrepancies
Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts and variance analysis
Support cash flow reporting and forecasting
Maintain the general ledger, ensuring transactions are accurately coded and recorded




Assist with accounts payable/receivable oversight as required
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies and internal controls
Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests

About you
Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
CPA / CA qualified (preferred)
Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a financial accounting role
Solid working knowledge of accounting standards and month-end close processes
Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems
Advanced Excel skills
Ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running with minimal training
Solid attention to detail and accuracy under tight deadlines
