About the role:

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) is seeking experienced Speech Pathologists (Level 4) to join the Healthy Children and Families stream, supporting some of the region's most vulnerable children and families at a critical stage of development.
Sustaining NSW Families Speech Pathologist is a permanent part-time role of 8 hours per week, embedded within the Sustaining NSW Families program to provide targeted, ongoing consultative support to nurses providing a home visiting program to families navigating complex social and developmental challenges.
Preschool Health and Development Check Speech Pathologist is a permanent part-time role of 28 hours per week, focused on the Brighter Beginnings Preschool Health and Development Check program, supporting proactive screening and early intervention speech pathology services to preschool-aged children across the district.

Both positions are based within the Murrumbidgee Local Health District and require some travel across multiple sites usually for training purposes.
They are senior clinical roles offering the chance to work with meaningful programs that shape early childhood outcomes across regional NSW.

Within this role you will also get the chance to complete speech assessments for children who access our First Nations Children Clinic in Wagga Wagga.

Our ideal candidate will:
Hold a bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology with eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership.
Have extensive clinical experience across a range of service delivery models including one-on-one consultation, group therapy, telehealth and community education, with a demonstrated ability to manage a complex and varied caseload — ideally with a paediatric speciality.
Be a confident and compassionate communicator who can engage, negotiate and collaborate effectively with families experiencing complex needs — including trauma, domestic violence or child protection concerns — as well as with clinicians, management and community stakeholders.
Demonstrate solid leadership capability, including clinical supervision experience, a commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice, and the ability to drive team performance within an organisational governance framework.
