Our team includes NULCA-trained, CERTLOC-certified utility locators operating within a Certified Locating Organisation (CLO).
Using advanced technologies including Electromagnetic Locating (EML), Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), GPS and surveying equipment, we help clients reduce risk, improve safety, and deliver projects with confidence.
The role offers exposure to major infrastructure, rail and utility projects and provides an opportunity to further develop your technical skills across utility locating, surveying and digital utility mapping disciplines.
About the Position:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for accurately locating and marking underground utilities including water, gas, electrical, communications, sewer and drainage assets.
You will also assist in coordinating specialist subcontractors including NDD, CCTV and traffic management providers as required across projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Locate and mark underground utilities using EM, GPR, and acoustic equipment
Interpret BYDA plans and verify utility locations on-site
Maintain and calibrate locating equipment and company vehicles
Complete SWMS and follow all OH&S; and secure digging practices
Produce as-built utility drawings, reports and ensure data accuracy
Communicate findings clearly with project teams and site staff
Report discrepancies and safety concerns to the Utilities/Operations Manager
Strong technical knowledge of utility locating technologies (e.g., EM, GPR, acoustic)
Ability to interpret utility plans and drawings
Strong understanding of AS****
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in marking and recording utility locations
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
Qualifications:
CERTLOC certified or willingness to obtain
Current Australian Driver's Licence
White Card (Construction Induction)
First Aid training highly regarded
Desirable Experience & Accreditations:
Exposure to Multi Channel Array GPR systems and post-processing software
Surveying experience or familiarity with GPS and total station equipment is highly regarded
Process and reduce utility and survey data using 12d or CAD software
Rail Industry Worker (RIW)
Concrete scanning experience
Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
