TJ PAINTING GROUP PTY LTD TJ PAINTING GROUP PTY LTD is seeking an experienced and motivated Painter / Painting Trades Worker to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality residential, commercial, and industrial painting services while maintaining professional workmanship and safety standards.
About the Role
The Painter / Painting Trades Worker will be responsible for carrying out painting and surface finishing works across a range of projects. The role requires technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Preparing surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, patching holes, removing old paint, and cleaning surfaces.
Applying paints, varnishes, stains, primers, sealers, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
Mixing and matching paint colours and finishes to meet project specifications and client requirements.
Measuring work areas and calculating the quantity of materials required for projects.
Hanging wallpapers, decorative finishes, and applying textures where required.
Erecting and working safely on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms.
Protecting surrounding areas with drop sheets, masking tape, and protective coverings during painting works.
Ensuring all painting works are completed in accordance with industry standards, project timelines, and workplace safety requirements.
Inspecting completed work to ensure high-quality finishes and rectifying any defects where necessary.
Maintaining painting tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.




Following workplace health and safety procedures and complying with company policies and Australian safety standards.
Liaising with supervisors, contractors, and clients regarding project progress and specifications.
Skills and Requirements
Relevant qualification equivalent to Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
Demonstrated experience in residential and/or commercial painting projects.
Strong knowledge of painting materials, techniques, coatings, and surface preparation methods.
Ability to interpret work orders, plans, and specifications.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and time management skills.
Robust understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
Valid driver's licence will be considered advantageous.
