Registered Nurse - Renal Dialysis and Oncology
A full-time position is available for a Registered Nurse to join our enthusiastic team of Health Professionals in the Oncology and Dialysis department at Swan Hill District Health. We can offer flexible working arrangements to suit your lifestyle and availability.
The Position
This role offers the opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills across two highly specialised areas, supported by an experienced and knowledgeable multidisciplinary team. The position provides structured training and education in both Oncology and Renal Dialysis, including supported placements at leading metropolitan health services. You will be supported to build specialist knowledge, confidence, and competence while delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a rural health setting.
Oncology Training
Oncology education includes online learning modules and a supported two-week clinical placement in Bendigo. This training will enable you to develop and consolidate specialist skills, including:
Administration of antineoplastic and haematology medications
Use of electronic medication records
Central venous access device management
Participation in comprehensive cancer care delivery
Oncology nursing is a highly rewarding specialty, offering continuous learning and skilled growth.
Dialysis Training
Dialysis education is delivered over a structured program including:
Six weeks of education, including three weeks of supernumerary support
Guided workbooks and hands-on training with advanced renal nurses
A further three-week specialist training placement at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne and St George's Dialysis Unit, Kew
This training provides comprehensive exposure to haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, home therapies, and transplant care, equipping you with essential renal nursing skills.
You Bring
Completion of 4 years post grad RN or its equivalent to the field of practise
To work independently and in a team
Willingness to learn, with great communication skills

Mandatory requirements
Current National Police Check, or will to obtain.
Working with Children's Check, or will to obtain.
Evidence of immunisation records/history as part of the Health Services Act ****, **** Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers).
