Strategically located on the Liverpool Plains of NSW, 1 hour southwest of Tamworth, JBS Australia's Caroona Feedlot employs approximately 50 people and includes a dryland and irrigation farming operation. With a licensed capacity of 28,000 head, access to an extensive network of quality cattle and ideally placed between the Riverina & Beef City plants, makes it a vital asset in the supply of grain fed cattle for both the JBS Queensland and New South Wales based processing facilities.
About the Role
Caroona Feedlot is currently recruiting a Diesel Mechanic to join our team in a full time capacity. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role is an excellent opportunity to expand your expertise with a global leader in food production.
The Diesel Mechanicis responsible formaintainingand repairing heavy plant and machinery, including trucks, loaders, feeding equipment, and agricultural machinery, to ensure maximum equipment uptime.
This role involves performing preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnosing faults, and ensuring all workcomplies withsafety and quality standards. The position requires technicalexpertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced workplace.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing efficient and effective breakdown and preventative maintenance
Engaging in maintenance service and repairs to heavy plant and machinery including trucks, feeding equipment, front end loaders, screening equipment, tractors and agricultural equipment
Ensuring that all mechanical work is carried out to meet the company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant legislation
Implementwork order instructionsin line with schedule completions
Upkeep of maintenance workshop, ensuring a clean and tidy workspace
Other duties as directed by theRolling Stock Coordinator and Maintenance Supervisor
About You
Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
Experience with maintenance and repairs in a fast-paced environment
Effective and efficient fault finding and diagnostic skills
Sound communication and interpersonal skills
Strong work ethic and a willingness to share information and skills
Sound knowledge and understanding of safe work practices and quality assurance
