The Opportunity
We are seeking a Precedent & Knowledge Advisor to join our Systems and Training team in Sydney.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys improving systems, solving problems and working closely with users to deliver practical technology solutions.
You'll play an significant role in supporting and enhancing the firm's business systems, workflows, document automation tools and AI initiatives. Working closely with lawyers, business services teams and technology vendors, you'll help identify opportunities for improvement, configure and maintain solutions, support users and contribute to the successful delivery of technology projects across the firm.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of systems while also contributing to larger technology initiatives and innovation projects. You'll be part of a collaborative and supportive team where you can make a genuine impact on the way the firm works and adopts technology.
Your Role
Support the planning, implementation and continuous improvement of firm wide technology initiatives
Configure, maintain and support key business systems and automation tools, including low code/no code platforms used to build and connect workflows and document production




Troubleshoot system and process issues across multiple applications and platforms
Deliver training and system support to staff and clients, explaining technical concepts in a way that is clear and accessible to non-technical users
Maintain and develop document automation, precedents and workflow solutions using a range of technologies
Design and improve user experience across business systems, workflows and forms so that solutions are intuitive and easy to adopt
Liaise with technology vendors, consultants and internal stakeholders to support successful project delivery
Provide a high level of service to internal stakeholders and promote continuous improvement across systems and processes
Lead and coordinate assigned technology projects, including system upgrades, enhancements and business improvement initiatives
Key projects include:
Project management of Aderant Expert (AE) Version Upgrades
Matter Management System coding, enhancement, ongoing development and troubleshooting
Driving adoption of business systems, including training, implementation, ongoing support and maintenance
Supporting and driving adoption of AI and automation initiatives across the firm.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience in a Knowledge, Precedents, Legal Technology, Applications Support, Training or similar role
Experience in a legal or professional services environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
Experience supporting users and explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
A proactive, service-oriented mindset




Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
A genuine interest in legal technology, knowledge management, AI and automation
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
A willingness to learn new systems and technologies quickly
Desirable
Experience with Aderant Expert, Caseflow Acumen, iManage, HotDocs, DocAssist, Litera or similar platforms
Exposure to document automation, precedents and knowledge management
Experience delivering user training and creating support materials
Exposure to AI, automation and digital transformation initiatives
Experience supporting technology projects, upgrades or system implementations
