About the Team
The Integrity Office supports the fair, consistent and timely management of student complaints, academic misconduct and general student misconduct matters across VU.
The team provides specialist advice, case management, preliminary investigation support and reporting. It works closely with Safer Community, Colleges, Student Services, Legal Services, Governance and other areas across the University.
About the Role
As an Integrity Advisor, you will manage a varied caseload of student complaints and misconduct matters, helping students and staff navigate University processes with clarity, impartiality and care.
You will provide advice on complex policies and procedures, assess and progress matters, support key decision-makers and identify opportunities to resolve concerns at the lowest appropriate level. The role involves direct engagement with students and requires sound judgement, strong communication skills and a commitment to procedural fairness.
You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of VU's complaints and misconduct processes by identifying emerging themes, preparing reports and developing practical resources and training for the University community.
Position Key Duties
Manage complaints and misconduct matters from initial assessment through to resolution.
Undertake preliminary enquiries, including gathering and analysing information,



interviewing relevant parties and preparing statements.
Draft clear and accurate correspondence, case summaries, reports and recommendations.
Support key decision-makers by coordinating relevant information and liaising with operational areas across the University.
Maintain regular communication with students and other parties about the progress and expected timeframes of their matters.
Analyse case information and prepare reports to support compliance, quality assurance and organisational improvement.

Classification: HEP Level 7
Salary: $101,288 per annum + 17% Superannuation
Employment Type: Full-time, Continuing

About You
You will bring a thoughtful, solutions-focused approach to resolving complex and sensitive matters. You will be comfortable balancing competing priorities, communicating with people who may be experiencing conflict or distress, and making sound decisions based on policy, evidence and procedural fairness.
You will also have:
A relevant degree with substantial subsequent experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and professional experience.
Case management experience, including assessing and triaging matters, coordinating responses, managing urgent issues and maintaining accurate electronic records.
Experience supporting the investigation and resolution of complaints, misconduct, conduct or dispute matters.
Strong policy interpretation and analytical skills, with a sound understanding of procedural fairness.
Excellent written, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to build collaborative relationships across a complex organisation.




A commitment to confidentiality, integrity, attention to detail and respectful engagement with people from diverse backgrounds.
Experience in the tertiary education or public sector, using case management systems, or working with regulatory bodies such as TEQSA or the National Student Ombudsman will be highly regarded.
