We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced and detail-focused CSSD Instrument Technician/Manager to join our surgical team at Artarmon Day Hospital. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the management of our CSSD department. Involving the cleaning, assembly, packaging, sterilisation, and storage of surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with current infection control standards and AS/NZS **** guidelines.
This position plays an essential part in ensuring patient safety and supporting the efficiency of theatre operations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform cleaning, disinfecting, inspecting, assembling and sterilising of reusable medical instruments and devices.
Operate and monitor sterilisation equipment and maintain accurate sterilisation records.
Adhere strictly to infection control policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Perform quality assurance checks and participate in internal audits as required.
Communicate effectively with theatre staff to ensure availability of correctly sterilised trays.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the CSSD and surgical unit.

We are excited to expand our team and are currently seeking a CSSD Technician /Manager with sound knowledge of infection control principles and AS/NZS ****standards within CSSD. Ideal Candidates Will Have:
Certificate III in Sterilisation Services (mandatory).
Ability to work independently and manage the CSSD department during surgical lists (We are a 1 theatre facility, and you will be the only CSSD Technician onsite during a list).
Exceptional communication and organisational abilities.
Previous experience working in a CSSD - hospital/surgical setting
Sound knowledge of infection control principles and AS/NZS ****standards.
Previous experience processing dental and plastic reusable instruments (highly desirable).
Meticulous attention to detail, with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Exceptional communication and organisational abilities.
