Section overview
The Digital Technology section (DTS) sits within the Office for Business Support and is responsible for driving the development and delivery of a range of strategic and operational Digital Technology functions. Working in partnership with ARPANSA's Executive, branches and offices, DTS provides services and advice on the Agency's use of technology, applications, information and data, including oversight of cybersecurity and information governance.

Primary purpose of the role
The Digital Operations & Security Analyst is responsible for delivering high-quality end user support, contributing to cybersecurity operations, and supporting core infrastructure and platform services. The role ensures timely resolution of incidents and service requests, supports secure and compliant digital operations, and assists in maintaining reliable and resilient technology services across the Agency.
Key accountabilities
Service Desk and End User Support: Provide first and second level Digital Technology support, ensuring timely resolution of incidents,



service requests and problems; deliver high-quality customer service; manage the Digital Technology asset lifecycle (procurement to disposal); administer backup and restoration processes; and assist in coordinating project activities, including task tracking and risk identification.
Cybersecurity Operations Support: Support day-to-day cybersecurity operations by monitoring identity, access and endpoint alerts; triaging phishing and security events; Assist in monitoring cloud platforms and security posture, identifying and escalating issues as required; Assisting in the investigation and triage of low to medium severity cyber security incidents, escalating issues where required; gathering logs and evidence; and assisting with vulnerability management and patching, device compliance monitoring, and adherence to security policies.
Infrastructure and Platform Support: Support endpoint and platform operations including application deployment, system monitoring and troubleshooting; assist with email, collaboration and network services; contribute to patching and compliance activities; monitor cloud usage; and support access management and system performance.
General responsibilities: Maintain accurate documentation and operational records; contribute to continuous improvement of services and processes; ensure compliance with policies and standards; and communicate effectively with stakeholders while working collaboratively across the team.
Our ideal candidate - job specific capabilities
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate proven experience in ICT support across end user environments, including the troubleshooting and resolution of incidents and service requests, along with a foundational knowledge of cybersecurity operations, monitoring tools, and security best practices, and experience supporting Microsoft-based environments, including endpoint management and cloud services.
You will also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve technical issues, manage competing priorities, and deliver outcomes within required timeframes, complemented by solid interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
You must hold Australian citizenship and be prepared to travel interstate from time to time as required. ARPANSA requires all current employees to obtain and maintain a national security clearance as a condition of engagement.



You must also meet required pre-employment checks as necessary.
Selection criteria
Demonstrated experience providing independent Digital Technology support across user and enterprise environments, including system configuration and application support;
Demonstrated understanding of cybersecurity principles and Digital Technology security frameworks and hands on experience with cybersecurity tools;
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across infrastructure, applications and end user environments;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders;
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships;
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.

The Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) website provides detailed information about the requirements for obtaining a security clearance at the required level, the documentary evidence you will be required to provide, the forms that need to be completed, and the relevant timeframes. Please ensure that you are able to provide the required evidence if you apply for the position. Failure or refusal to complete the required forms, or to comply with reasonable requests from AGSVA, will result in ARPANSA withdrawing your security clearance application, and your employment with the agency not progressing.
ARPANSA is responsible for assessing how information relates to the agency's security risks, as well as a person's suitability for employment by the agency. ARPANSA will use the information you provide to undertake relevant checks in order to identify any factors or circumstances that pose a security risk to the agency and assess whether you are suitable to have access to the agencies non-public assets. You will be notified if you are assessed as unsuitable for employment by the agency.
