Helem Yumba CQ Healing Centre is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Organisation committed to supporting healing, strengthening culture, and empowering individuals, families and communities.
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate
Healing and Wellbeing Facilitator – High Risk Response
to join our team.
This specialist role provides culturally safe, trauma-informed support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victim-survivors of domestic and family violence (DFV), coercive control and complex trauma. Working closely with the
High Risk First Nations Cultural Advisor
, you will deliver crisis intervention, intensive case management, support coordination and advocacy, helping victim-survivors navigate complex service systems while promoting safety, healing and self-determination.
About the Role
In this role you will:
Provide specialist support to victim-survivors of domestic and family violence.
Undertake risk and needs assessments and develop safety plans.
Deliver crisis intervention and intensive case management.
Coordinate support across health, housing, legal, child protection and community services.
Advocate for clients and facilitate multidisciplinary responses.
Maintain accurate case records and professional documentation.
Contribute to culturally safe, trauma-informed service delivery.
About You
To be successful, you will have:
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victim-survivors of domestic and family violence or within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander family systems.
Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention, risk assessment and complex case management.
Strong knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally safe practice.
Excellent communication, advocacy and relationship-building skills.
The ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications in Social Work, Human Services, Counselling, Psychology, Community Services or a related discipline are highly regarded. Applicants with
a minimum of two years' experience in the domestic and family violence sector
will also be considered.

Essential Requirements
Applicants must hold:
A current C Class Driver's Licence
Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check), or the ability to obtain one.
National Police Check, or the ability to obtain one.
Willingness to travel throughout Central Queensland as required.
References from two recognised significant community-based Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people.
