The Opportunity
We are seeking a Lawyer to join our respected Personal Injury team in our Melbourne office. This is an excellent prospect for a practitioner looking to build their career across a broad range of personal injury matters while working alongside experienced and supportive practitioners.
Key responsibilities will include:
Direct liaison with clients and providing accurate and timely advice
Managing a diverse caseload of personal injury matters
Preparing court documents, correspondence and settlement materials
Attending court appearances, mediations, conciliations, conferences and settlement negotiations
Conducting legal research and preparing advice
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Successful candidates will have:
A valid Victorian Practising Certificate
A minimum of 2-5 years' PQE, ideally with experience in personal injury law
Experience acting for plaintiff clients, defendant clients, or both, within personal injury
Strong knowledge of personal injury legislation, procedures and dispute resolution processes
Exceptional client care skills, with the ability to engage empathetically and sensitively with vulnerable clients
Strong negotiation, mediation and advocacy skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong client relationship and business development skills
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and a busy caseload
