The Prospect
Our client is a well-established, large-scale organisation undergoing significant finance transformation. With legacy systems being modernised, reporting and controls being strengthened, and processes being improved, this is a genuine hands-on, build-and-fix role where you will have the chance to make a visible impact.
Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider Finance team, you will play a key role across financial reporting, technical accounting, financial modelling and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support
month-end reporting and financial close
processes.
Prepare financial statements and reporting packs, supporting
AASB and US GAAP
requirements.
Manage
IFRS 16 lease accounting and fixed assets
, including building and maintaining the Fixed Asset Register.
Perform complex reconciliations, journals and balance sheet reviews, independently investigating and resolving discrepancies through to source.
Support inventory reconciliation and investigate recurring system-to-ledger variances.
Develop and maintain
financial models, forecasts and analysis
to support business decision-making.
Identify and implement
process improvements, automation and stronger financial controls
.
Extract and manipulate data from legacy systems and automate AP/AR and other finance processes using advanced Excel.
Support technical accounting requirements and key finance projects.
Partner with the Financial Controller and broader Finance team to deliver accurate and timely reporting.
About You
CA/CPA qualification with substantial
hands-on industry experience
.
Advanced Excel skills –
essential
.
Strong
financial modelling, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
.
Proven experience across fixed assets, inventory and IFRS 16 lease accounting.
Solid financial reporting and month-end experience.
Demonstrated ability to investigate complex reconciliations and resolve issues through to source.
Experience improving and automating manual finance processes.
US GAAP knowledge is highly desirable.
Experience working with legacy systems and limited documentation.
A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work to tight reporting deadlines.
Immediate or short-notice availability is advantageous.
