J & Co Melbourne is seeking an experienced
Sous Chef
with strong culinary expertise and demonstrated knowledge of preparing
FODMAP-friendly meals
to join our team.
Reporting to the
Executive Chef – VIC
, this is a full time position based in a busy food manufacturing kitchen in
Springvale, VIC
. The role has a strong focus on high-volume food manufacturing and bulk production, delivering nutritious, high-quality meals to meet the needs of our
elderly and health-conscious clients.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and experienced team, contribute to the continued growth and development of our food production operations, and help deliver exceptional food quality, service and standards to our customers.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Oversee all food operations paying particular attention to every stage of the production process
Manage freshness, quality and ensure all products are delivered as per SOP
Ensure all orders are dispatched on time from the kitchen
Ensure consistency across all products
Manage processes,



SOPs and on the job training across kitchen team
Quality Assurance
Manage HACCP processes and checks
Manage and maintain food and production labour costs
Receive customer feedback and work with operations to ensure corrective actions are taken
Manage rosters effectively to meet demands
Drive a safe work culture and comply to HACCP and WHS regulations
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role.
Strong knowledge and practical experience in preparing FODMAP-friendly meals.
Experience in high-volume food production, commercial kitchens or bulk catering.
Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and quality standards.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Ability to lead, motivate and work collaboratively with a kitchen team.
A positive, hands‐on and solutions-focused approach.
