We are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Technicians to join the maintenance team at a major gas-fired power station in the Hunter Region. This is a hands‐on maintenance role suited to mechanical tradespeople with strong experience across preventative, planned and corrective maintenance. This is not a construction-focused position - we are specifically looking for people with a solid background in mechanical maintenance.
About the Role
You will be responsible for carrying out scheduled and preventative maintenance activities to ensure mechanical equipment and systems remain protected, reliable and operational.
Key responsibilities will include:
Completing planned and preventative mechanical maintenance activities
Carrying out inspections, servicing, repairs and fault finding
Diagnosing mechanical issues and identifying appropriate repairs
Maintaining mechanical equipment in accordance with maintenance schedules and procedures
Supporting breakdown and corrective maintenance activities as required

Completing maintenance documentation and reporting
Working safely and effectively as part of a wider maintenance team
Following site procedures, safety requirements and quality standards
About You
We are looking for experienced Mechanical Technicians who have a genuine maintenance background.
You will have:
Mechanical trade qualification
Demonstrated experience in preventative and planned maintenance
Previous experience working in an industrial, heavy industry, energy, manufacturing or similar maintenance environment
Strong mechanical fault‐finding and troubleshooting skills
The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance documentation
A strong commitment to safety and quality
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team
This is a maintenance-focused position. Candidates whose experience is primarily construction, installation or new-build work without significant maintenance experience may not be suitable.
What's on Offer
5:2 roster
Local position - home every night
If you're a qualified Mechanical Technician with solid preventative and planned maintenance experience and are looking for a local opportunity within the energy sector, we'd love to hear from you.
