About the position
The
In-Work Mentor
will focus on ensuring anincrease in client retention by supporting their placements throughthe day-to-day timely management of quality and consistent PostPlacement Support (PPS). The position will provide this supportthrough various methods including online and in person at theclient's workplace. This position responds to clients' requests andenquiries, offering advice and support to ensure the sustainabilityof their employment. This position also builds strong relationshipswith key stakeholders,
linking clients with supports to ensure allemployment outcomes are achieved. Where a client's employment maybe in jeopardy, the In-Work Mentor will alert, liaise with andmentor other employees to support the employer and client to helpachieve a positive outcome on the journey to sustainable employmentoutcomes.
The In-Work Mentor will liaise with the AMES Australia Sites,employers and clients to follow up on declaration of earnings andreport under-declaration of earnings to the relevant GovernmentDepartment.
Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in a similarposition
A valid Working With Children Check (for employmentpurposes)
A working knowledge and strong understanding of employmentsupport services, specifically for refugee cohorts, clientsfrom a CALD background, clients who identify as ATSI or CALDclients with disability, and the challenges and barriers theyface
Strong verbal and written communication and problem solvingskills, including the ability to advocate on behalf of theclient, to influence key stakeholders and to overcomeobjections from clients and employers
Demonstrated strong administration and organisationalskills including the ability to work under pressure and meettight deadlines
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skillsincluding the ability to mentor and train others, and to workeffectively with people across all levels of an organisation
Good customer service skills with the ability to keep theclient's needs at the centre
Solid computer literacy including the ability to useMicrosoft applications and other administrative systems /databases
Ability to comprehend and apply basic mathematicalcalculationsAbility to adapt to change, including to learn new systemsand processes as needed
Proven experience working in a team environment
Ability to interpret and understand policy and processinformation
Where relevant - understanding different types ofdisabilities including physical, intellectual, sensory andmental health disabilities, as well as developmental disorders
