Narangba Timbers is looking for an experienced
Accounts Officer
to join our Finance Team and take ownership of our Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Banking functions.
This is a hands‐on role where you'll be responsible for keeping the day‐to‐day finance function running accurately and efficiently, while also having the opportunity to improve how we work through automation, technology and AI.
What You'll Be Doing
Taking ownership of the Accounts Payable workflow, including invoice processing, exceptions, supplier queries and payment runs
Managing Accounts Receivable activities, including invoicing, credit checks, aged debtors and customer account queries
Processing daily banking transactions, payment allocations and reconciliations
Investigating and resolving discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records
Supporting month‐end close through reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments and variance resolution
Assisting with maintenance of the fixed asset register and supporting accurate financial reporting
Maintaining accurate supplier and customer records
Identifying opportunities to improve and automate finance processes
Working closely with the Financial Controller to strengthen financial controls, systems and processes
What You'll Bring to the Table
We're looking for someone who is confident taking ownership of their work and can bring both strong technical skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
You'll ideally have:
Demonstrated experience across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and/or Banking




Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
An interest in using technology, automation and AI to find smarter and more productive ways of working
Moderate Excel skills and confidence learning new systems
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
Strong communication and problem‐solving skills
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small finance team
A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, with sound judgement around when to escape
Experience with ERP/accounting systems, AP automation or AI‐assisted finance tools will be highly regarded
